Our Story

GOING FOR THE GOLD! TAKING THE RISK! JUMPING INTO THE DEEP END!  STRUGGLING THEN PICKING UP THE PIECES!

Starting the food truck was a dream for decades, but responsibilities and fear stopped me from taking the leap. In 2017 I realized I just couldn’t work for someone else anymore and felt it was time to risk it all.

It was a lot of work, a lot of time and a lot of passion to drive me forward to start the Union Foodie Truck. Flavors running through my head daily, ideas for dishes, sauces and more. Finding the right truck was key… after searching for months I found Penelope… and it felt like home.

Over the first couple of years working the truck and growing the business was not without its challenges.  Generators (yes, that is plural) stolen, life happening and then… the pandemic.  With every challenge comes an opportunity to grow and change…CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

Safely creating and packaging comfort food, and delivering it frozen, ready to heat, to our customers throughout Santa Cruz county was our pandemic pivot.  Working with different menu items, from the flavors we were creating on the truck, allowed our creativity to expand and made us look toward the future of the business… that is where we decided to rebrand and change the menu on the truck.

And now… Epoch Eats
